Hi, i recently got a pre built CyberpowerPC Gaming Desktop Gamer Xtreme C790T Intel Core i7 9th Gen 9700K (3.60 GHz) 16 GB DDR4 2 TB HDD 240 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Windows 10 Home 64-Bit with what i think is asrock “coolerone” default cpu cooler with a default b360m xtreme motherboard and i kinda knew the motherboard nor cpu cooling would be good enough but whats done is done.

Case CYBERPOWERPC Onyxia Black Windowed Gaming Case

I am not good with pcs and never built anything myself not to screw things up but am now doing a lot of reading as im forced to and possibly will eventually know what im doing and will build my next pc myself.

But as for now im starting to get worried bout the overheating thing of my i7 9700k

This is my inside of the case

I watched this video

In the above video it looks like this cpu cooler noctua nh-u9s should be more than enough for i7 9700k and i already ordered it with thermal paste and termal paste removal sheets, but deciding to ask you pro folks if i should indeed be alright with that even with that crappy case that i have since changing the case is out of the question at elast for now, or its not that crappy and im okay as long as i change cpu cooler and maybe other fans. I dont even know what those 3 fans are to be honest, but i guess they are cheap.

I also wonder if i sholud change all those 3 120mm fans as well with something of noctua or something i dont know.

So far it looks like with a closed case my "zotac firestorm software" shows my gpu rtx 2070 is running at 72-75 degrees max with fans at around 70-73 max speed while playing odyssey assiasin creed on very high settings (not even ultra) but i think cpu might be struggling, but maybe not.

I dowloaded “coretemp” software to monitor cpu temp. i activated overheating protection in that software and set it to notify me once cpu reaches 85 degrees, but that never happened while playing assasign creed odyssey on very high settings (not even ultra) but when i alt tab off the game i see core tmp shows them in orange colour which is hot at 90 degrees on all cores but as soon as i alt tab out of the game it drops to like 65 right away so i think it never actually reaches 90 and maybe its just an alt tab glitch that shows it at 90 since coretemp’s overheat notification set to 85 never actually notified me, but i dont know.

I also want to download something SIMPLE to show in game my cpu temp at all times to have an idea if it really overheats or not, but not sure what to get to test it so i would really appreciate your input fokls for every section and my concern above if u dont mind reading so much.

Sorry for so much text

But mainly wondering if i can still keep the case since i will have to keep it and if that cpu cooler in the title would be fine for that case and help things out and if i need to change those 3 fans to help things as well or changing all that stuff wont help if the case is bad 🙁 so looking for advise what to get for that case. MAybe its not actually a bad case, but i think it is, cant find much info for it.

thanks

Your GPU temps are fine, but those CPU temps are not. When you alt tab out of the game, the core load drops, so the temp does as well. Since you cannot overclock, that Noctua should work fine, and it will be far better than what you have now. Cyberpower putting such a crappy cooler and board, with a 9700k, is just sad.

PotatopowerPC back at it again i see.
That's literally just a rebadged Intel stock cooler.

Good software for monitoring:
HWmonitor - shows all the temps, fan speeds and voltage readings it can find from your pc.
Intel XTU - Can be used to tweak hardware settings but also very useful for displaying information, it can detect if your cpu is throttling and the reason why, if it is.

I see, thank u, so does that mean as long as i install that cpu cooler, that garbage case (if its garbage, maybe not) should be able to handle airflow properly and drop temperatures significantly? I dont need to change those 3 big fans i have in there now? When i touch my gpu after 30 min of gaming it feels like i could do scrumbled eggs on it, its that hot, just worrying damaging other components and playing with an open case doesnt feel to be a solution not to get more dust in. Also that crappy motherboard should be alright u think as long as i lower temperatures? I hope that mother board doesnt fail on me 🙁
