is 1.328v to much voltage to give a i7 4790k for evreyday use ? will that much voltage degrade my cpu fast ?

I recently delidid my i7 4790k using coollaboratory liquid pro in between the die and the hs so my temperatures are very good @ 4.7ghz I use 1.255v typed in my bios and 1.28v in cpu-z under full load and my temp is 66c . and @ 4.8ghz I use 1.295v in my bios and 1.328v in cpu-z under full load and my max temp is 69c . is it safe to keep my i7 4790k @ 4.8ghz using 1.295v in my bios and 1.328v under full load in cpu-z ? or will my i7 4790k degrade quickly ? and is the i7 4790k able to take more voltage then a i7 4770k with out degrading ?

now you have me wondering,my 4790k is running at 4.4 GHZ and the voltage is 1.18 to 1.21.It runs cool,about 35c idle,about 47c gaming.Does anyone think that would degrade the chip fast?

guys i have it stable on 4.8ghz on air 1.275v core bios with 1.8750 Vccin.


24hrs stressed blend with prime95.. i didnt make stress on Small because small is mostly times allright.. blend is causing always most of the errors..

i want go further but my tempst wouldnt let me do i think. i reached 92c max with one of the cores.. others went 87 a 89 or so. but this happends only when stressing. normal use of gaming it wont pass 65c.. mostly times 60.

i can go further.. max temp 100 while stressing.. 101 would shutdown the system for security.. if i saying good security safe etc.

What can you guys tell about this for now.. ?

All I know is that I have a delid 4790K running at all 4 core turbo @ 4.6ghz using 1.25vid/1.72vcin and OCCT test is avg 82C. I have a Thermatake Water 2.0 Pro (1x120mm rad)... and personally I think it's sucking.

I am seriously debating to get rid of my Water 2.0 Pro and getting the Swiftech H220-X

Research delidding either using a Table Vice + Wooden Block & Hammer or the Table Vice only (Easy & highly recommended) method.
You can drop your temps by 20c if you use coolaboratory liquid pro between the die & IHS and Indigo XTreme XS on the heat sink.
By reducing the temps, you get more thermal headroom to continue to increase your voltage
