Is 100% cpu usage bad while gaming

Hi I have a i5 7400 and on cpu intensive games I hit percentages of eighty to ninetys sometimes but my temps do not go above 60c am I fine for long gaming sessions

So long as your temps are good then you have nothing to worry about. 100% usage simply means you are getting 100% of your CPUs power.

100% usage on modern games happens every day with quad core folks...even those w/ 8 threads. Quad threads, it's an absolute given.

Your CPU is right where it should be for normal operating temps. Keeping your CPU below 65 on average while under normal operating loads is the general goal. Lower is better of course, but unless you plan on spending extra on massive cooling, then you are fine where you're at.

Those CPU temperatures are normal for under load. So you're fine.

As long as your temps are within the safe range you have nothing to worry about-more than likely its a cpu intensive game.

Not to worry.
The cpu will throttle or shut down if it detects a dangerous temperature.
That is around 100c.

Operating at 75-85c is not a problem.

It’s perfectly normal. Even if your cpu was running at 100% it is safe as long as temperatures at safe levels which is anything 80c or below.

Your cpu used % is what it is and depends on the app or game.

At idle, I would expect to see 10-15c. over ambient if your cooler is mounted well.
As before, running at 75-85c is not damaging to the processor. It is designed to handle even more.
