Is 1440p worth it? Or even noticeable?

I want to get a 1440p monitor but they're pretty expensive compared to 1080p ones. So is it worth it to get, or is it even noticeable?

Noticeable in graphically intensive titles which look nicer, and pixel density on 27" screens is much better, as I came from 1080p 27" and 1080p 24".
Depending on your specs though, 144hz 1080p or 4k could be better options.

I am going to build a pc with an i5 7500, 8gb RAM (just to start) and either a 1060, 1070 or 480. If 1440p isnt worth it I wont need to spend the extra money for the 1070

1000-1200. But if 1440p is really worth it I can wait a month or two to save up for a better gpu and monitor

I would say it's also about screen size. If you're planning to get a 23 or 24" monitor, 1080p is mostly what you want. Once you get into the larger monitors then you'll want a 1440p resolution to keep a sharp image. Of course, everyone's eyesight is a bit different, so it's best you go somewhere that will let you see these different resolutions in person.

Not worth it given your situation, a 1080p 144hz monitor will suit you better.
