Hi all,

So as many others here I'll be finally upgrading my 980ti to either a 3070 or 3080 (Most likely the 3080, but it depends on price and availability)
Naturally my 24" 1080p@144hz monitor needs an upgrade as well.

Since 4K@144hz is just not realistic even for the 3080 I don't plan to upgrade to 4K this generation.
Instead I was planning to buy a 2K 144hz monitor, the monitor that shows up the most is the LG 27GL850.

However with Samsungs release of the G7 odyssey, we're seeing the first non-TN panel 2K 240hz monitor.
The Acer Predator XB273U GX will be the next monitor to release this year with a 2K resolution and 240hz capability on an IPS panel.

Previous to the Nvidia announcment 240hz on 2K wasn't realistic, now that it is, it bring the question, is it worth it?
I don't mind paying 100$/€ extra on a monitor to jump from 144 to 240hz, but now that I've seen the The Acer Predator XB273U GX is going for an equivalent of 860$ in China, I don't know if I would pay 360$ premium on it, over the LG mentioned before.

Solution
A 240hz. monitor will give you a few more frames to line up a more accurate shot but if you don't have the lightning fast reaction skills to go with it, it won't make much difference.
