i ordered a MSI GTX 980 gaming and it's supposed to come in a few days. I have a 620W psu from Antec in my PC now but it started making a clock like ticking noise and it's really annoying and It gets worse when it's under load. I do have another psu from Xilence. It has 480W and I didn't have any problems with it while I used it [wich I can't say about the Antec one] but I want to know if I can use it again until I get a new psu.
My pc config is:
i5 4670k stock speed
8gb 1600mhz
1 130g ssd from Kingstone
1 1TB HHD from WD
1 MSI gtx 980 gaming [when it arrives]

Solution
The GTX980 requires a psu with 30amps on the +12v rail and 500w. The clicking noise is probably the fan. You could probably fix that pretty easily.

Your supply is a tier 3 or lower not recomended for a gaiming system Plus gtx 980 says 500watt psu requirement now you might get away with a 480watt tier 1 or tier 2 suppy but not the one you have will it work yes it may for a while but you will be stressing it and as it is already not a real high quality psu you will be headed for a lot of headaches it may even fry and kill your whole system. Never skimp on a psu.
