Is 4x8gb ddr5 better than 2x16 GB ddr5? I want to get a 4x8gb ddr5 kit as ot looks better and will probably cost the same price however I haven't really seen any 4x8gb ddr5 for sale even though there are tons of 4x8gb ddr4 kits. would there be a kit that you guys would recommend? and also is there a performance difference between the two?

What platform are we dealing with? I'd stick with two sticks of ram regardless of Intel or AMD.

would there be a kit that you guys would recommend?
Got a specs list to your proposed build? As for your purchase info, we will need your budget, your preferred site for purchase and your location, to help narrow down suggestions.

So would there be a performance decrease? As I would prefer doing 4x8gb ddr5 even if the performance slightly decreases I am also on the amd am5 platform

Specs:
CPU: ryzen 5 7600
GPU: 4060 ti 16gb
MOBO: NZXT b650e
SSD: samsung 990 pro 1tb

My budget for cpu, gpu, mobo, ram, ssd is 2000 CAD

Ryzen CPUs are dual channel memory controllers. They operate best with two DIMMs.
Four DIMMs is probably difficult to find as a matched set of 4x8GB in DDR5. You will have a very limited selection (if any). Using two matched sets and hoping they play nice is just that, a hope. You have no guarantee.
Two 16GB DIMMs sold as a matched set it the best answer.

That's a complicated answer for non-server systems, but for home, like your set up, it's either no difference to 4% better with 4 sticks on AMD for gaming, other uses you'd have to test.

If they're dual ranked, I'm not sure, but if the firmware is good, basically they'd just try to fill whatever is faster/closer as needed.
