Solution
Don't get 4GB VRAM versions of graphics cards that originally have lower VRAM (R9 270X is normally 2GB). It is a trick to sell basically the same graphics card for more money.

It will work but I think you might put too much stress on the power supply with the FX-8350 + R9 280.

Go for the GTX 960 which performs close to the GTX 770 and a bit better than the R9 280. This way you can still overclock aswell if you wish to.

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB SuperSC ACX 2.0+ Video Card ($189.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $189.99

Solution
Adding a R9 270x or 280 will put your PC in the 400 watt range I would not recommend running that power supply at 80%
The disc drive really is a non factor because it really don't count unless your using it.
Changing to a GTX 960 would put you in the safer range using more like in the 340 watt range.

Thank you very much both of u for answering. I was actually considering the gtx 960 but is it really better as it only has 2 gb memory.
