[SOLVED] Is 500W PSU enough for this setup

Specs :

CPU : Intel Core I5 2500K
GPU : Sapphire R9 290X
HDD : Samsung (some random model) 7200RPM 1 TB
PSU : Enermax (some random model) 500W
Motherboard - Gigabyte ga-q77m-d2h

I don't see it working. I think it will boot and work fine until you stress that GPU (it's a power hog). Fire up most any game and it will glitch or crash. The CPU is 100 Watt (ish), the GPU is 350 Watt, MB + HDD, 100 Watt ish ... It just doesn't add up. A quality 650 Watt or low tier 750 Watt would be a better choice.

Many power supplies can do more than they are rated for, some can't (really cheap ones sometimes can't even do what they are rated for ... that's why people normally recommend on the high side). A good PSU will pop a breaker or fuse if you overload it. A low tier PSU should, but who knows.
