Question Is 60hz enough?

Currently running a 2019 LG 4K 60hz hdr monitor. Is high refresh rate worth it? I don't feel like it will make me a better gamer. When I bought this monitor I was going to get a 1080p 240hz but chose 4K as I prefer clarity over smoothness. 60hz feels smooth enough for me. Should I upgrade to 4K 144hz or 165hz? I will need a better gpu than my 2080 ti, its doing a good job at 4K 60fps locked.

go to a big electronics store like Big Lots and/or any small computer shops nearby and check out the displays available to see the difference in person and see if it appeals to you at all.

i would much rather be playing, no matter what type of game it is, at over 100fps and want a decent refresh rate to match so i'd say 120Hz is the minimum for me.

I recently bought a AOC 144Hz IPS monitor, to use as my main one, and my other 60Hz one as second, which i used as main monitor for like 2 years, and the difference is unreal. It took me a while to get used to it, and whenever im doing smth on my other monitor, it just feels 3x slower xD.
For gaming specifically it helps a lot, you have faster response time, everything happens smoother, and just overall its a 10x better experience.
I highly recommend you move on from 60Hz, if not on all of your monitors, atleast one the one you game on/use the most. ESPECIALLY if you are playing FPS games, feels like "pay to win".

And just so you know, once you upgrade from 60Hz, you never go back...

I did what you did. I felt resolution was more important than extra hz. But I know someone who got a 144hz monitor and now they want 280hz. Today I'm seeing monitors at 500+hz. Apparently once you go buttery smooth you can't go back.

Exactly.
I've gamed on 240Hz and 360Hz panels also, and tbh i dont see as big of a difference between 144Hz and 240/360Hz as much as I noticed the difference between 60Hz and 144Hz, especially when you factor in the money you have to pay for a 240Hz/360Hz monitors, its not worth it, for me atleast.
144Hz is what i consider the bare minimum if you want to be decent in FPS games, its sort of like a necessity.

EDIT:
Also, its not 2017 anymore, you can get a 144Hz IPS panel for around €100 on sales, I got mine for €110 from a guy i buy regurarely from on the used market, perfect condition, just for you to use it as a reference.
