Is 70 degrees on a CPU normal while playing open world games?

Hey guys, so I just recently built my computer with an i5 6500, and whenever I play open world games (haven't tried non-open world games yet) the temperature spikes up to 70 degrees, which makes the fan go crazy. Games like The Witcher 3 and Watch Dogs 2 really put my CPU to the test. Is this normal? The sound of the fan is making me uneasy. Thanks.

70°C is fine for that cpu.

If the fan is the stock one, then maybe... Try to reaply the thermal paste. Or maybe get another cooler.

It is a tad hot but not alarming.
Depending on room temperatures, it might be normal.
If you want to bring temps down, you need to buy a aftermarket cooler.
I have cheap coolmaster and it brought temps down about 5-10 degrees.

The Cryorig M9i is a good option for that cpu and is usually around $20.

70 is fine, you can purchase an aftermarket cooler liquid or air, depends on you. It will improve surely temperatures and expand your CPUs lifespan. Nothing to worry about.
