Is 75°c safe with Amd Ryzen 5 1600?

Hello everyone,
Recently, I have bought Amd Ryzen 5 1600 for my Video and 3d rendering work. I am not planning to overclock it as this can decrease my CPU's life. I'm using the stock wraith spire cooler as i have heard it's more than enough.

Last night, I have rendered a HD file in 3Ds Max Vray for about 3 hours. I was constantly checking my CPU temperature and Core Usage with HW Monitor. My CPU was running at 75°c and had a max value of 76°c, also all of my cores are running at a value of 3398Mhz and had max value of 3.699 Mhz (core 5 had a value of 3700Mhz).

My question is - Is this CPU temp normal as i m also gonna use it for rendering, pretty much everyday?

And

Is CPU core running at 3.4Ghz to 3.7Ghz normal? Because it has a turbo core speed of 3.6Ghz not of 3.7.

Also do tell me that this temp or core speed or both could decrease my CPU's life?

Thank you.

The 20C offset only applies to X version Ryzen processors (1600x, 1700x, 1800X). 1600 non x is not affected by that offset. Again 75 is High but still in the safe zone.

What's your motherboard? did you update the BIOS to last version? Some AM4 motherboards where reporting little high temps with early BIOS.

You could try this 2 options and see if this help with temps

1. Go into BIOS and set Default Settings, even if you don't touch the bios before.
2. Update the BIOS to Latest and Stable Version
While 75-76°c seems high, and taking in Consideration that you run a render for 3 hours without going about 80°c, seems like everything is running fine. The temps are inside the secure zone, but if you still feels worried about those temps, you could get a better cooler, but for 3-5 hours render time at those temps is still nothing to worry about.

About core speed, There's nothing to worry either.

What are your voltages and Idle temps?

Safe? Yes. Optimal? NO.

Decrease your CPU's life? Not in my opinion. I simply prefer my CPU to stay below 70C and it normally stays below 60c.

What's its idle speed?

What's the ambient temp. where the PC resides?

Voltage 3 3.41 Volts [0xD5] (+3.3V)
Voltage 8 0.62 Volts [0x4D] (CPU VCORE)
Voltage 9 1.18 Volts [0x4A] (DRAM)
Voltage 10 12.00 Volts [0x7D] (+12V)
Voltage 11 5.04 Volts [0x7E] (+5V)
Voltage 13 0.91 Volts [0x72] (NB)
Temperature 0 46 degC (114 degF) [0x2E] (SYSTIN)
Temperature 1 61 degC (140 degF) [0x79] (Mainboard)
Temperature 3 40 degC (104 degF) [0x28] (TMPIN3)
Temperature 5 59 degC (138 degF) [0x3B] (CPU)
Temperature 6 46 degC (114 degF) [0x2E] (TM

I have Cooler Master K380 Cabinet with one fan, and I am planning to add two more. Maybe this would help me lower temperature a bit.

Temperature 5 59 degC (138 degF) [0x3B] (CPU) at idle? That is not right. I mean that that temperature is not normal. It's too hot 😀.

Where did you get that from? What does http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/technologies-gaming/over-drive say?

Witch Software are you using for those temps? Please try Ryzen APP or HWInfo64

Those Idle Temps are high, so maybe it could be a bad reading with software

Overdrive is for Old AMD processors, there's another app for Ryzen

No, its not idle, its when i was rendering. HWmonitor app showing me temperature at two places there - one is in temp section where cpu temp is 59°c and other is in amd ryzen 5 1600 section where it is showing temperature package node to be 75°c.
I don't know why CPU temp are different at both of these places.

Thank you 😀 Yeah, I forgot about that. And there is a 20C offset. WHY!!! If you want to adjust the fan's response can't you do it another way? Some people will see 60C(when in reality it's only 40C) and freak. Odd. Very odd.

Try the aforementioned http://www.amd.com/en/technologies/ryzen-master

Oh well, can you try with HWInfo64 or with the Oficial Ryzen APP just to be sure it's not a reading bug.
