Probably need something like 3GB @ 384bit for heavily modded Skyrim am I right?

Like moulerhere said, if you got money to burn, get the 16GB and if you have more, you don't need 850w unless you want to go SLI.

Get this GPU instead of the Zotac , $380 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125463

You can get this 760w PLATINUM Seasonic USA for $140 with promo code : 0827BTS31 expires 9/9

as for a 16GB RAM kit: Money burning it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231628

Budget 16GB kit : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148561

8GB kit...

I've been a mod author for a long time and I can say that skyrim won't use that much ram, even heavily modded. The most I've seen it at is 6 gb and this is with many, many mods. Also you should never mess around with the uGridsToLoad setting. It causes crashing and ruins savegames. Lol I know first hand.

I have 16 gb of ram and I just use half of it for a temp file ram disk.

8GB is going to be the "minimum" in a couple of years as well as 64-Bit Windows, might as well get 16GB of RAM now rather than later...

Hm that's weird. How much ram does your video card have? That's what is eaten up first and is important to have most of.
