No, some games are moving up to 16GB and PS5 Titles will be heavily bottlenecked by 8gb.
Otherwise if you prefer to keep everything closed in the background when gaming then its ok.
If you like to keep steam, Origin, discord and skype running in the background as you game then no 8gb will be a problem especially if your CPU/GPU is good enough to run demanding games.
