Is a 250 GB M.2 SSD big enough for gaming?

Hi, I was going to use a ADATA 256GB SSD Drive with the I7-7700K processor in a gaming build and then the 8700K processor came out and I had to go to the Z370 Motherboard and decided to use a M.2 PCI-E SSD. Just wondering if 250GB is enough or should I go bigger? Primarily use Steam for gaming and fps etc..type of games.

Also, is the M.2 that much of a big improvement over the older SSD's?

Thanks Take Care

I've had a 250GB SSD for a while in my laptop. It's generally only big enough for 2 or 3 games, Windows, your apps and your personal data. Fortunately my laptop had room for a 2nd drive and I put in a 500GB spinner. In fact, that's the usual configuration if you can't afford a SSD that's 500GB or larger. Since your new system is a desktop, you should be able to find a cheap 2 or 3 TB drive for your game archive.
