is a Corsair H80 liquid cooler overkill for light/medium overclocking?

I've never built a pc before or overclocked and I'd really appreciate some advice.

well, I haven't decided on my CPU yet, but basically I want to overclock the CPU but not go overkill on it. If I could I'd just get the cooler master hyper evo 212, but my case has a limit of 158mm, so it can't fit.

and for specs:
CPU: undecided
GPU: nvidia gtx 760
RAM: corsair vengeance (2x4gb)
power supply: corsair cx 600
HDD: western digital blue 1TB
case: aerocool templarius telum white
motherboard: undecided (although probably gonna buy one with x2 ram slot)

Say if you bought the intel 3570k and overclocked to around 4.2ghz the h80 would be completely fine
