Title pretty much says it all, would it keep it cool? Would it also be good for modest overclocking? I was in a little hurry and its already ordered, but it hasn't been payed for yet so I may be able to switch it out if it isn't.

Thanks.

Yes its quite good up to 15% OC ? you should take it ~4.7 easly on it.
(from other post)
XMP Turned On (Which also overclocks 7700k to 4.5 GHz)

Idle: 36c - 45c
Full Load: 75c - 85c (still can get lower by voltage a bit)

For modest overclocking, for sure yes. As long as you don't go crazy and expect 5ghz at @1.3v you should be good.

Opt for 1.2v/1.25v and work clocks up from there through stress testing and monitoring temps. Like Rdslw said, 4.7 is doable, just keep an eye on temps.

Good luck!
