If I am using two gtx 980 ti GPUs with an intel skylake i7, would extra cooling be necessary? I am supposed to use one 4K monitor with all settings of a game maxed out.
CPU coolers aren't necessary unless you are overclocking or you don't like the stock fan (or there isn't one.) If you have an i7-6700K though you might as well pick up say a Hyper 212 EVO so you can overclock later.

It may ruin your hardware sooner but it gives mou more performance out of a CPU.If you are not planning on overclocking,you should stay away from K models.
