I'm about to build a pc, and just want to know if all I need to install windows with an .iso file is for it to be on a USB.
Can I boot any USB flash drive in the BIOS?

Rather than downloading from a third party website, why not download the Media Creation Tool from the Microsoft website?

Yes, you can boot to USB from BIOS, whether UEFI or not. You may have to change the boot order so that USB is on top.

The 3rd party site doesn't host the download, but provides a guide to do it and a link to MS's website to get it.

I would still just go straight to microsoft.com

The Media Creation Tool is a basic sequence of on-screen instructions and choices.

Maybe I am just being paranoid... However, I've never had a virus other than Malwarebytes finding browser extensions as PUPs.

Where did you obtain this ISO file from? Did it not come with a DVD or USB when you purchased it?
