Hi.. Guys I am planning to buy a new cpu (so I thought I should ask here before doing so 😀 ) will amd fx 4300 with hd 7770 be able to play 2014-15 games in med to high graphics at 720p? Or I should wait more to buy an amd fx 6300 or something better in same price? I am really confused!!
My pc spec:-
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard
4 gb of ram
Windows 7 64 bit
Corsair 550 watt psu
Amd hd 7770 gpu
Need help......

Solution
i owned a 7770 for over a year. it's definitely strong enough to play many games in 1080p on medium to high... 720p it should handle pretty easily. if you're having issues with a game in those resolutions your cpu will be at fault, not the gpu.

Hi,

From what I understand the newer games are using more cpu cores so the six core will be your best bet,you may want to add 4gb of ram. Do you already have the gpu? as R9 280 can be picked up on amazon for £129.99 you just need to check their site often to see when they have the deals on. If your happy playing around with pc parts and your mobo will take an octo core cpu, ebay has some good ofters on them and a fx8350 can be had for £90 including postage second hand, just don`t buy the first one you see as I`ve seen some go for nearly retail price. I`m running a fx8350 and a r9 280,8gb ram and am playing CoH2 at 1080p and all turned up to the max. I also have a phenom X4 with a hd6850 and that plays dirt 3 at max settings but is not great for crysis 1-2 and the setting need to be dropped to get acceptable frame rate but that is also at 1080p.
