Question Is an LGA 2011 cooler compatible with an LGA 2011-3 socket ?

Hello. I'm sorry for my mistake but I think I bought a LGA 2011 cooler instead of a LGA 2011-3 cooler which is the socket I'm working on. I use a Xeon E5 2690 V3 CPU.

So my question is will an LGA 2011 cooler also work on a LGA 2011-3 socket without any issues?

Thank you.

Looks to be a universal cooler, so I wouldn't expect any problems.

LGA1366 and LGA2011 are the same mounting, that includes 2011-V3, that was an electrical change, not a physical one. LGA 1700/1816(future) are 78mm vs 80mm of the larger sockets. And LGA115x covers everything else Intel. LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1200.

AMD has stuck with their mount since the Athlon 64 if memory serves. AM1-AM5 are all compatible.

So basically, LGA 2011-3 is just a voltage or current (or whatever) change, nothing physical. That means LGA 2011 will fit with LGA 2011-3, right?

I'll also ask the seller to be sure. Also sorry for my bad English. I'm still learning it :)
