Is Asrock G41-VS3 compatible with Windows 8.1 ?

Solution

If you have a need for such LGA775 MB, look for those that use components that are more standard in modern day, i.e. Realtek LAN/Audio for better compatibility.

I did have a C2D E6320 runnning on an ASUS P5KSE (P35 chipset, Atheros LAN, Realtek Audio) that was replaced with the P5LD2 when it broke (older 945 chipset, Marvell LAN, Realtek Audio) and even the P5LD2 worked with 8.1 32bit (2GB DDR2 system, didn't check with 64bit). But VIA Audio or integrate Intel graphic of this G41 board may be problematic.
Unfortunately, sources seem to lead me in the direction of t not being able to. They suggest that having a 64-bit system will be better than running 32-bit on that mobo but another website just says, compatible with windows 7. Wouldn't risk it mate, try finding another board :)

I saw those mobos pre-owned are about $79 AUD.

Asus H110M-K's are $79 AUD brand new and can run Windows 7 32/64 bit, Windows 8.1 32/64 Bit and Windows 10 32/64 Bit.

Hope I helped :)
