I just recently built my first pc (it’s budget i’m broke lol) and i’m just wondering if in bios, the asus optimal setting is safe, ive heard it’s too high voltage and i have no clue how to manually overclock, and what performance gains could i expect?

i5-3570
hyper 212 black cooler
msi gtx 960 4gb oc
p8h61-m le/csm mobo
16gb ddr3 1600mhz ram
1tb hdd (working on saving for ssd)
evga 600w 80+

Optimal settings is somewhat akin to default. Also, you're not going to have much in terms of manipulation with those specs. You should be good to go. I would not advise on BCLK overclocking for that platform. The only overclocking avenue can be your ram but anything above 1600MHz is pointless for that platform.
