Is buying more ram worth it in my case?

So I've been planning to buy a new SSD Hard drive and Windows 7, but my motherboard supports DDR2, and I'd have to buy a new CPU and a motherboard if I wanted to go for DDR3.

So I've been checking these Kingston HyperX T1 1066MHz DDR2 CL5 4x2GB (5-5-5-15) RAMs. I was wondering that how greatly it would effect my FPS/performance in gaming, and would it lift off some of the burden from my CPU/graphics card? I feel that my current amount and speed of ram memory is quite lacking for the games nowadays.

So, would it be worth it getting them, or just roll with my old ones.

I would upgrade to a DDR3 board before going more than 4GB. It's not cost effective on DDR2. I've had that scenario a number of times with my 3 ddr2 machines..

No. even with w7 (64bit ) unless you have applications that will use it, nobody should really need more than 4gigs.

W7 64bit and an SSD would be a good upgrade.

I still run DDR2 800. see no need for anything faster. don't let that worry you.

pure processor speed and that ssd you're planning on getting will speed things up a bit. .......... unless you want to invest in an 1155 set up..??

4GB of ram to 6GB of ram is noticable on the 64 bit OS as far as hard drive thrashing goes. But instead of throwing money into really old tech, pick up a Sandisk readycache drive. You'll get more of a performance boost per dollar there than on ram in most cases.
