I’m running a gaming rig with 8gb ddr4 2tb hard drive space an r7 240 4gb gpu and a liquid cooled celeron g3620. I play destiny 2 with lots of lag and am gonna upgrade my cpu anyway but is an i5 6400t good for destiny 2??? It’s the best cpu I can afford so obviously anything better is out of the question

It wouldn't be a waste to get the i5 6400T, though even with the CPU upgrade performance might not be all that great. At best, getting the i5 will make your framerates more consistent and eliminate outright freezes due to the game needing more than 2 CPU threads.

Ok but, again, I need you to drop it to the lowest settings I need to see how the game is reacting at that.

Also what is the frame rate you are getting (both at highest and lowest)? Also what is your GPU useage?

OK, please follow what I am asking as I don't want you to needlessly spend money. The i5-6500 is a good choice either way, but you may have more problems than just the cpu.

As I mentioned at the lowest setting I’m still experiencing stuttering every few minutes and at highest settings I’m running approximately 3.2gb vram of 4gb capacity at low to medium I’m running about 1.4ish gb vram and my cpu is at 100% load per core. I’ll have to check framerates later as my hard drive just decided to croak 10 minutes ago er=20739331,0,1852902]

Minimum is a Pentium G4560 which is faster than your current CPU.

However you are saying you are getting stuttering every few minutes, that may not be just a CPU problem.

There is no doubt an i5-6500 will play this game better for you. And I think its a good idea for you to buy it. But I think you're still going to see some issues even with that CPU.

I don't care about the vram you use. I need to know GPU useage. Also, no matter how much VRAM use you have that GPU is still way low, even with a better CPU you're gonna get awful framerates.

Okay thanks I’ll get the 6500 also would a rx 460 2gb help any????
