Is Crossfire the answer? Or is a new graphics card?

Hi I just had a quick question I hope the community could help me out with.
Pretty much all I do on my pc is play games, and Id like to get a little more out of my rig without having to spend to my money and I believe me graphics card maybe the short end of my rig atm so here is my question.

Should I buy another Graphics card and Crossfire the two or should I go ahead and buy a brand new one over all to maximize my performance?
also I'd like to do this on a budget, my current card is going on average for 100-150 bucks I believe.

My Graphics card atm is a ATI radeon HD 5770

You can probably get a GTX650ti which is more recommended than going crossfire. You can see improvements but if you could spend just a little bit more then you can get a Radeon HD7850 1GB which is much more significant. for your bucks go for GTX650 Ti or else HD7770.

^ 7770 improvements is small from a 5770 which doesn't make much sense upgrading to it

i recommend you to get current gen card such as radeon 7800 series. if you can't afford one right now just hold onto your 5770 for a little while longer and save more money until you can get one. honestly i'm not surprise if amd going to drop HD5k series support once HD8k series starts to roll out later this year. another option would be waiting for the next series

Graphics Card : ATI Radeon HD 5770

Up to a HD7850 should be good if you can afford one. The 1GB version are around $165 at newegg. If you can't, get the 650ti

Yea I think its really what you can afford I would go with either a 650Ti as others have said or the 7850 and I would try at my very best to get a 2 gigabyte card just for the games that do in fact go over a 1 gig of ram which is becoming more common.
