Is DDR3 RAM too old already?

Hello there. I'm currently using a pc that has Core i5 4590 processor, an RX 480 graphics card and 8gb DDR3 RAM(1600 MHz)

Nowadays DDR4 RAM is mostly used. DDR4 obviously offers better speed.

But my question is, has DDR3 RAM already become an old and out-dated thing? Does having no DDR4 RAM effect gaming too much?

Solution
As previously mentioned DDR3 isn't dead and will continue to work just fine. The only real difference you're going to see is if you're using software that can take advantage of the higher memory speeds and if your primary focus is on gaming then you really won't see much of a difference.
