By the way later on i'm going to be adding another gtx 970

Haswell/Broadwell/Skylake are all still "compatible", just sleep states need disabled in the BIOS, which who really cares. The only thing is the XXX would be a group regulated design, so crossload voltages won't be as good, but it's still a well-performing unit.

I'm not saying it's his best option, but it's not the face of death. It's a good unit.

1) Disabling sleep states usually works, but it's not 100%. Those PSUs were designed for older systems that idled >50W (at least larger units), and even without sleep states haswell+ can use much less than that. I've seen problems with old units (~2010) and sandy bridge+fermi, throwing newer, more transient heavy devices like haswell+maxwell would be downright cruel
2) Looks like pcpartpicker was broken and lumped two different PSUs together. The actual one isn't the horrible 750XXX, rather 750Pro XXX which is Seasonic M12D. Again though, compared to the cheaper EVGA G2, it doesn't even come close in quality

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story5&reid=442 <-- nope, not 100%, most are taiwanese
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=454 <--- my god, look at that noise+ripple... GQ is absolutely horrible....
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=442 <-- G1 is a bit better than GQ, but still horribly overpriced when the G2 is only a few bucks more (usually within $10)

You do realize that in Jonnyguru's later reviews he zooms into the graphs more, right? Did you even look at the actual graph values or just look at the thumbnails? The GQ ripple is about the same as the GS.

And, as for the G1, the 750W is all Japanese and quite better than the 650, the 650 is not and is worse.
