Depends on the switch. If it's a non PFC unit flipping the input voltage switch could be very bad. Now just the on/off switch does the same thing as turkey said.

It's kind of like threatening a person, pulling the plug is just shooting them in the head maybe using the switch would be like shooting them in the leg to tell them you were serious. I don't know but sorry for the weird example

Flipping switch would be better as it still allows a flow back to ground.
If you yank to cord and there is a surplus of voltage then either has to escape somewhere (like your networking port) or fry something else.

Any half decent PSU should be fine with either. It's just like a power outage, your computer is not going to blow up. The primary capacitors are going to lose their stored energy, and eventually the voltage drops low enough, causing the PWR_OK signal to be cut and the motherboard triggers PS_ON to shut off the PSU.
