I have a 790fx-gd70 mobo and I am looking at GeIL Black Dragon 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 133 at $81 Canadian

But here are the details

GeIL
Series: Black Dragon
Model: GB34GB1333C7DC
Type: 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
4GB (2 x 2GB)
DDR3 1333 (PC3 10660)
Cas Latency: 7
Timing: 7-7-7
Voltage: 1.5V
ECC: No
Unbuffered
Dual Channel Kit
No Heat Spreader

I have never owned a Geil ram and I am wondering if it's any good, should I look for better investment?

I don't particularly like GEIL RAM, it is not in my top 5 list: Corsair, G.SKILL, Mushkin, Kingston and Crucial (for budget RAM). Also, of the 5 I only like certain models e.g. Dominator's.

Also, if you're looking at the AMD Phenom II X6 it has its' own list of supported RAM. Otherwise 1600 or 1333 MHz DDR3 is recommended. Further, I do not see the GEIL {GB34GB1333C7DC} as tested or certified to work properly with your MSI.

Corsair recommended:

Thank you so much for the reply, good thing I waited before ordering.

The thing is I have a Noctua NH-D14 and there is just no space to have those heat spreaders on rams.

I know you don't like to be open to recommendations that conflict with your beliefs, and I 'hope' that pays off and the RAM can operate properly.

I posted all of this stuff above already. You only want RAM that is: 1. Certified, 2. Tested RAM Mfg, 3. Approved by RAM Mfg via ticket. Not because it looks nice.
MSI Certified RAM - http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=prodtestreport&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=&cat3_no=&prod_no=1740
Tested G.SKILL - http://gskill.com/configurator2.php?pid=2&model=96

'You' picked - F3-10666CL7D-4GBECO which does NOT appear on any Lists... I would contact G.SKILL and see if it is compatible with your MOBO. http://gskill.com/contactus.php

Good Luck!
