Question Is Google hacking my internet and sending it to Washington DC ?

Just used my phone to check whatismyip.com and it believed me I'm on vacation at San Diego, which is several hours away from where I live. :rolleyes:

Yet whatsmyip.com believed I was at Redmond, Washington. At least 1000 miles away. :ROFLMAO:
Thats likely what happens when you are using cell data. The way cell data works is almost a form of VPN. You can drive from tower to tower and your IP will not change. I am not sure how far this will extend but I have driven a long way and had streams running that did not interrupt.

I am not so sure how the cell companies allocate their IP blocks to cell towers. They are all running CNAT to begin with so your traffic will pass though the NAT router and appear to be located there.

Now if you turn on location sharing and let your phone give out even more data then it will be able to locate you down to a couple feet.
