Yep. Any GPU will work as long as the motherboard has a PCI express slow. You may need a 6pin PCI-E on your power supply too.

i read in this same forum that gtx 750 ti is not compatible with gigabyte h61m-ds2 motherboard. is that true ?

Yes it is compatible fully. The motherboard however has PCIe 16x 2.0 and the card will give 3.0 output. Although
Performance will never be affected as no card uses more than 2.0 pcie standard.
