Im selling my Gtx 980ti and after posting for like 8 minutes 3 people were like asking if they can meet me the day to buy it.

To my knowledge I dont think the 980 ti is as good as the 1070 for mining so I dont really know the reason for the demand...

Solution
The 980 ti is only a tiny bit better than the 970 for mining, the 1070 is miles ahead of both of them. AFAIK the ethereum mining speed is based mostly on memory speed. So, the demand for your card is due to people not wanting to spend $420-450 on a GTX 1070.
The price of 1070 is being drive up due to mining. Performance wise 980ti and 1070 is about equal but Oc vs Oc 980ti can come out on top. Maybe buying used 980ti are more worth it than buying new 1070 that is more expensive than it should be due to mining.

I see. But there are a lot of 970 or 980 for sale in my Country, why arent the miners taking them?
Im starting to think of not selling it or selling it on a higher price since this gpu hasnt tasted any mining of a sort.

im planning to switch to a 100hz 3440x1440 Freesync monitor, as i see it being the future, So im going to sell this 980ti for $320 and get an R9 290x for $120 and add the rest for the monitor. I know the 290x is not enough for 21:9 but its just a sort of band aid solution as the vega cards are priced ridiculously high and there are no fury x sellers atm

Ehhhh I wouldn't do that. You're downgrading to a card that's half as fast on a screen that needs a lot of power to drive. 30fps with freesync is still going to look worse than 60fps without it. Unless you're only playing esports titles you're going to have to play on low/medium settings to get 60fps on that screen with a 290X.

Yeah, thats the bitter part of it. But it's the cheapest and fastest solution i could come up with. Im also starting to consider using the 980ti since its plenty fast enough for that reso and refresh rate

It really depends on the Electricity and internet, if you are gonna mine and use all your data in a month and get over charges and pay more in electricity it may not be worth it, if you can get a 1070 get it! as it draws less power!
