I have old but still power full pc with following configuration:
MB: Asus Rampage II Gene
CPU: Intel Core i7 920
RAM: Corsair XMS DDRIII 1600 3x4GB
VGA: Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 1GB
HDD: RAID0 3x1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12
Power: 780W Real
Case: Full ATX Gaming (that new GPU fits easily. I Tested Gigabyte G1 Gaming RX 580 8GB)
I think if I could replace my VGA and use a SSD, my PC still can be use for gaming. Search really a lot in web for ensure that new GPU will work with my PC. I tested Gigabyte RX 580 8GB, unfortunately didn’t work. There was no signal. Support team of Asus and Gigabyte just said incompatible. But in userbenchmark website I saw so many same PC tested by users with new GPU like 2080, 1080T, 1060 and even RX580.
Honestly I can’t pay again for new GPU then negotiate with seller agent for refunds.
Support of userbenchmark website didn’t reply my question, unfortunately! As you maybe know there are no way to contact to those users of this website that using new GPU.
So I ask you guys if anyone knows that GTX1660 will work with my PC, and what is the problem with RX580 in my case that didn’t work.
I really thanks anybody who can help me

Solution
Sadly it's highly unlikely it will work. The mobo doesn't have a UEFI bios, and anything newer like a GTX1xxx/2xxx Radeon RX4xx/5xx series generally don't work.

It might be worth updating your mobo to the most recent one, just to be sure, but I'd not advise you to purchase the card for that system.

Cards that are supposed to work will GTX9xx and lower from Nvidia and R7/R9 from AMD.

OKAY, no worries. Then I'm not sure whether the card will work or not. But like I mentioned before, chances are slim if the board lacks UEFI support.. Also. the last BIOS version date for this mobo is from 2011.

thanks to Metal Messiah. and keith12 for their answers, good new for all who wants to use new VGA with old Gaming rig :
new cards from nVidia works fine with old MB with Legacy BIOS

i can manage to test two card: ASUS Strix GTX 1060 6GB & ASUS TUF GTX1660Ti Gaming.
both of them works fine.
but RX580 from gigabyte wont detected with my MB, as i mentioned it in starting threat.
