Hi guys.

I want to get a new monitor to play with my PS5 at 1080p and 120fps.
My question is simple: is a full hd monitor with 144hz refresh rate and an HDMI 1.4 port enough?

I heard statements that HDMI 1.4 is enough, while others say you need to have an HDMI 2.0 in order to be able to run games at 1080p @ 120fps .

Can you please clarify it for my?

The monitor I'm considering buying is the AOC 24G2U.

Thank you.

I tested these monitors on the PS5:
  • AOC 24G2
  • AOC C24G1
  • ViewSonic XG2401
  • ViewSonic VX2458-C-mhd
  • LG27GL850
I was able to get 1080p 120 Hz on the PS5 on all of them.

Hello. how did you manage to get on the AOC C24G1 120hz monitor on playstaion 5 ??? I fail, I only have 60hz whatever I do.
I turned off freesync on the monitor, I put the console on performance games mode but nothing only 60hz...
and I read on the internet that this model, AOC C24G1, has hdmi version 1.4 which is not compatible whit PS5 to run at 120hz:(

I didn't do anything special, just plugged it in with PS5 performance mode on, started Cold War, and it was at 120 Hz.
