Is HDR really needed to play Xbox one s?

So im going to buy a 4k monitor for my xbox one s, and is hdr really needed ? Can i use the xbox one on 4k even without hdr monitor? Because i can't find many hdr monitor, even tho i did its very expensive :/

I dont want to buy tv because its too large and i dont have any space in my room.

HDR is not needed for xbox one s.
What to you need the 4k for ? Xbox one s max game resoloution is 1080p FullHD.
