is high watt cpu better than low watt cpu.... I want to know this because the cpu i have now is amd athlon 64x2 4200+ oc to 2.7ghz 65watt... Or should i use my amd athlon 64x2 3800+ at 90watt... dont know the o speeds i can get with it yet.. But what should i use im not worried about heat because with my cooler my 4200+ runs max at 47c so what vwould you recommend

That's a complicated question with a very misleading answer. In short, if comparing to other CPUs that are the same generation/family then yes, usually higher wattage means the CPU is in the higher end range of that generation/family. However, do NOT use that as your method of determining which CPU is "better" then another. You really have to compare all the specs and keep in mind what the CPU is being used for. What's good for a gaming PC would probably be terrible for a home server.

I hope that helps to answer your question.

Thank you but i want to use it as a gaming pc the 4200+ 2.2ghz 512kb 45watt cache the 3800+ 256kb 2ghz 89watt
but i hear the cache makes no diffrence on these cpu's i cant afford a new on i have to use one of these witch would you reccomend????? im not worried about heat i have corsair h100

buying similar parts for my pc. My intent is to game a well but my system can't push the high demands. My guess is to go with the 2.2. The wattage difference in those 2 proccessors are not a big difference. Also games now are requesting 2.0 and higher so its best to be ahead of the game. as off cache space. Im buying 1024 only because the price difference on ebay are generally the same.
