Hello,

Do you think the afore mentioned notebook is good enough for studying? I'm worried it might be too slow, due to it's dual core cpu.

Intel Core i5 540M (3.0 MB L3, BGA1288)
2 x 2530 MHz (max 3066 MHz)
4096 MB DDR3 (SO-DIMM RAM)
120 GB SATA3 SSD

A friend asked me if i think it's good. I don't wan't to recommend a sluggish notebook. The price seems to be very good for this one. Only 150 usd.

Solution
For that price, i think it's ok but if possible, look for something better.

with 4th or 5th gen processor and more upgradability.

You can find great deals on refurbished dell, hp and lenovo laptops.

Dell Latitude E7000 series laptops are the best in my opinion.
They even have Full HD touchscreen models with up to 16 GB RAM support.

Hi, my friend is having heating problems, He can't even watch flash without it overheating after 5 minutes. I am pretty savvy being a geek for decades, :) But if you are looking best price then its the best with the price.

Hi,
I think your friend's laptop probably needs some cleaning around the ventillation or a new application of thermal paste.
