[SOLVED] is hyper threading turned on?

hi, I don't remember turning on hyper threading when installed the cpu.
but I did press F5 to use optimized defaults in bios.

question: is hyper threading turned on right now? Noticed there are plenty of Processor in Hwmonitor.

CPU: i5-10600k

Yea it’s turned on, it shows 12 logical cores on a 6 core / 12 thread cpu.

No problem but I wouldn’t do that, many apps and even games profit from it now.

Xvid4psp won't work properly with HT turned on. So HT has to be turned off. I need Xvid4psp for encoding videos.

Oh okay, that’s annoying. I think there’s a app you could use instead of disabling it permanently. CPU Lasso i think was the name of it .

seems Xvid4psp get's "dizzy" when the cpu is hyper threaded (lol). The same thing happened when my i7-2600k had it's HT turned on, Xvid4psp stopped working on that pc - but worked fine again once HT was turned off.

anyway, it's not really that big of a problem. It's easy to go into bios.

will just turn on HT again if I encounter a game that needs it.
