Is i3 2100 64 bit processor

Hello,
Is core i3 2100 a 64 bit processor?
should i use windowsxp sp2 or windows7 with this processor?
i am having a intel dg61ww baod with 4 GB ram (2 x 2).
will using windowsxp sp2 result in any reduction in performance?
is it true that windows 7 will consume more ram than winxp.

the i3 is a 64-bit CPU.

either one of the OSs will work fine

any 32-bit OS will only see about 3.5GB memory minus the memory used for onboard video card if used

Win7 is better in controlling memory use

Most all modern processors including the I3's are 64 bit, I would highly recommend Win7, microsoft doesn't even officially support Xp anymore, its a dead and out dated operating system. Win7 handles multiple cores much better too, along with DX 10/11 and other features not available in Xp.
