is i3 3220 good for gaming

I agree with Novuake for the most part. I personally prefer AMD over Intel due to the price difference. Generally.. for Intel the i5's are pretty damn good but if you wanted high end i7 is the way to go. As for AMD... make sure to say within the FX series. I myself own an AMD FX 8350 and it has enough power to put my computer in the rankings of a gaming beast.

AMD Mobo's are actually fairly cheap right now. I just purchased a new one last week for a mere $100 bucks. If you are dedicated to Intel. I recommend the i5 3750K. It is a great processor for the price.

Do you already have your GPU? 990fx and 990x are going to have the biggest difference when it comes to your Graphics Card. PCI-E 3.0 is only supported by 990. A Graphics Card with PCI-E 3.0 will still work in a 2.0 slot but there is a power loss percentage.

I have the same card :3 Supposedly with AMD cards there isn't that large of a difference. The main thing would be 990's are much better for 'extreme' overclocking. Along with that they allow for multiple crossfire/sli capabilities. However it seems as if you are building on a budget and for you it most likely wont matter too much.

I believe he is looking for an Intel board 😛 but to add on if he is looking for AMD board. That is the one I purchased a week ago. I love it so far and have had 0 issues with it.

I wouldn't say its "great" for gaming, but it is "ok". Like using this processor over a i7-4770k would be crazy, because you would loose alot of FPS in games. Here are some benchmarks to help you understand.

Hey, atleast your getting better FPS in hitman than a AMD eight-core lol

Yes, that psu is going to be powerful enough. As for your CPU choice.. I'm not too much of a fan.. I would go with a 8000 series instead because of the two extra cores you would get which go swimmingly with that Mobo as it does support Octa-cores.

RaZrr, I highly recommend not going with a stock cooler when you build a gaming PC. It is always in best interest to go with an aftermarket. Along with that I'm still voting AMD because of the 8 cores and price.
