Hi

I'm bulding a gaming PC and i'm not planning to overclock it.

cpu i5-4690
gpu MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

will the stock fan of the cpu good enough? or it will overheat insid the case.

if it's not good enough can you suggest me a fan to replace stock fan? its hieght must be less than 8.2cm to fit in the case. 😀

thanks in advanced 😀

Solution
The stock CPU cooler is stock, but it's still a cooler that has the job of protecting what you just bought. Aftermarket coolers may be more advanced and offer a solution with less noise, or lower temps, but the stock is just fine (especially for not OCing anything). As long as you have decent airflow in your case and decent fans pushing and pulling air through the case, you shouldn't have any issues. If you buy a good case, the stock fans are probably plenty as well. If you browse around on pcpartpicker at the completed builds, many of the budget builds opt for the stock cooler to save the 40-150+ dollars on a cooler.

even though the stock cooler is good enough i would never fully rely on it to be a permanent thing to have.
good value for money can be found in a H series 120mm Closed circuit water cooler (h60/h80 etc) or a zalman revision. most of them run very well with much hotter Processors and can cost as little as £39 if you shop about, Plus they look better than a stock fan 😉

Thanks, but the fan you sussgeted is too big and won't fit the case 😀

I planning to get silverstone raven (RVZ01B) and to use the fans that come with the case only 😀
also, I try to spend extra money only when needed for the build 😀

thanks, these are good fans but a bit pricey :/
