Is i7 7700 compatible with msi z170a m3? will it work?

When I first googled it.....I only went to the page that said 6th gen.

Here's some more confirmation. It says it will support the 7700.

the motherboard came out when only 6th gen existed so some of the specs or headlines may not have been updated on the motherboard product page. if it lists it under the CPU support list then as long as that motherboard has the right BIOS version odds are it will

Yes, it is compatible as long as the motherboard has BIOS version 7978vA9 (AKA version A.9) or higher.
