Radeon has recently released their Radeon HD 4890 2GB GDDR5 wich is a upgrade from their provius Radeon HD 4890 1GB GDDR5. I wonder... is it really worth to buy the 2gb card? i mean the card's weight is for example 1.5 kilos wich is massive and it requiers a whole lot of power to run. What do you recommend me to buy? The 1gb or the 2gb, price difference aint too big so it doesnt matter. I got a MSI P35 Neo motherboard and a 750W power supply. And which cooler system should i use? I think sapphire is great but maybe there's something better out there :), maybe HIS or XFX

Here are some links for information about the cards

2gb: http://www.cpu3d.com/review/5665-1/sapphire-radeon-hd4870x2-2gb-gddr5/introduction.html

1gb: http://www.cpu3d.com/review/7881-1/sapphire-radeon-hd-4890-vapor-x-1gb-gddr5/introduction.html <--- AWSOME LOOK :D

Depends what you want it to do.
Unless you are playing games at very high resolution and must have all settings on high or you do a lot of work with image programs that would make use of all that Vram then 1gb is plenty. Good job i just checked the links the first link is a 4870X2 anyway which while it has physically 2gb on the card is basically crossfire on one board and as such your system would only see 1gb due to how crossfire works.
From the two linked i prefer the second card, but that could easily be overkill depending on the rest of your system and what you want it to do.

oh sorry i linked the 1st one wrong, shame, i meant to link this one http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=485310

i know there isn't too much information about it on the page but i cant find any site wich poses more information.

And btw i intend to play high end games on full graphics on my 23 inch wide screen. So wich do you think i should choose?

What are you using at the minuite ?
The reason i ask is because ATI are releasing the 5 series along with DX11 support around October time and if its best performance you want then if possable i would at least wait and see what they can deliver before spending $200 upwards on a new card.
Personally of the two cards you linked i dont think you will need 2GB and as i said with new cards coming out it could be a while before 2 gb is needed, certainly after your new card is reduced to midrange. That just my informed opinion though.

i have a shitty crap graphic card. A 256mb GeForce 8600... i hate it, my fan is broke and sound's like it stuck. And it get's overheated in no time so i really need to change fast... maybe i should buy something cheap in the meantime then? Btw Dx11 is that for windows 7 only or does it work on vista too?

Yes you do need a card now dont you. DX11 will work on Vista as well as W7, not XP though. Its not the DX11 thats the thing really it will give benefits (what we dont know yet) to DX10 upwards cards and as such waiting for one may or may not be worth it performance wise, but i would be surprised if the cards are not faster anyway. As is the way with these things.
It really is up to you just wanted you to be aware they were on the way. DX11 games will be a while coming on mass so its not like all of a sudden your new card will be slow.

Sorry, forgot about the fitting.
You have a PCIE slot so the cards will fit into the board. It depends on the size of the cards and your case as to if they will fit in it or not. Sorry dont know the card size off hand.
