Is it a good idea to have a 2nd pc for rendering, when doing 3D design and rendering and video editing?

if you need to render and still use the pc, then a second one would be a good idea. rendering uses the pc pretty heavily and will slow down anything else running. if you can set it to render and then walk away, then 1 pc is fine. like if you were to do it overnight while you slept.

not a pro myself but this is my understanding of how rendering uses a pc.

I would get the FX-8350, even if it is a couple years old and being phased out. I have it, and the eight 4GHz cores render in Blender's Cycles engine (similar to V-Ray) only about 4-5 times slower than my GTX Titan Black. It definitely is a great deal for the power/money ratio!
