Is it a good idea to paint my case fans?

I am soon going to be receiving some high-quality noctua fans. The only problem is the color scheme does not go with that of my build. I was thinking of safely spray-painting the blades red.

Couple questions:
-This will make my fan louder and slower, because of the weight of the paint, correct?
-What are the possible risks?
-Is it a good idea?

~Thanks

frame. if they were cheap a@$ fans I would say go for it but they are nice ones, killing them would seem a waste.

First of all, thanks for the reply.

Is there any way I can ensure an even coat?

short of disassembly.paint it then turn it on to dry, the centrifugal forces should throw off the excess, but that will make a mess, and paint could foul the motor.

permanent marker? you could use rit dye, they have a synthetic mixture, but you will have to disassemble again

Ok, what if I did it with a brush? would that be a little safer or not make much of a difference? Should I just decide not to paint the fan blades and instead paint the frame?

A bit late to discuss, but you could give this a go: let the fans spin for a while and then apply the spray. But nonetheless, you really don't want to do any kind of spray painting the blades themself.
