Is it a worthy change from HD6950 2GB to R9 270X?

As title says. I am currently with the sapphire 6950 2Gb , changing to R9 270X is it a good upgrade or not worth it?

I play only on 1080p resolution, games like witcher 2 (my most anticipated game is witcher 3). So that's my needs generally open world rpg games.

The 270x is the same card as the 7870, might be a little quicker due to different clocks but for the most part identical. I would use 7870 benchmarks to compare it's performance.
