Is It Compatiable? Which CPU?

Hey Guys,

I am new at doing this stuff, but I have my old computer here that I game on, which doesn't give me the greatest fps and am looking to upgrade the CPU. I have a FM2+ socket so after looking around for a while I resulted to picking either 7890k or the 7870k (unsure yet) and I was making sure that it will work as this is all new to me. I also only have 4GB RAM and will be looking to upgrade to 8GB but unsure which RAM is compatible and is best for my CPU and Computer which still wont hurt the money too much. I also don't have a Graphics Card so I am looking for a CPU that has integrated graphics such as 7890k which apparently can run 1080 on 30-40fps.

7890k is newest and best cpu you can buy for FM2+ socket so either go for that or new motherboard with i3 processor. It all depends on how much money you will be spending.

RAM isn't really cheap so if you gonna upgrade buy 2x4Gb 1866 or 1600 MHz

Can the i3 go on a FM2+ socket?

Yes it looks like ill be getting the 7890k, would that be abled to run games on 1080? with solid frames?

Also I am worried it wont work with my motherboard.

Nope, Intel chips won't work on AMD boards, & vice-versa.

The 7890K works fine, just make sure you have BIOS version F3a or later already installed.

What CPU do you currently have in the FM2+ board?

It will work with your motherboard for sure if your chipset is FM2+, just upgrade the motherboard to the latest BIOS and you will be fine. 1080p with solid frames = depends on your graphic card and which games you plan to play
