Hello.

Since 2010 i'm having problems with CPU. It's overheating.

The problem wasn't annoying because everytime when it happened I was downclocking it from 3.1Ghz to 2.8, then 2.6 without problems with in-game fps. But now (since about 4 months) this thing overheats even on 2Ghz which is uhm... kinda... I don't know how to write it. Simply - today it messed up my morning while playing League Of Legends and I'm angry.

Anyway, PSU has been changed, CPU cooler has been changed also. Probably I tried out every thermal grease which was available in nearby city... Zalman STG-2 failed too. CPU's thermal sensor is working properly.

North bridge and power section is VERY hot after 1 hour of playing games or using Internet browser if case is opened or not.

The final question... Is it dead or something like this?

It looks like a cooling issue, although from your data it looks like at certain voltages it is more stable than at others.

I would make sure to keep the case clean and dirt free. Also, plenty of space around the case.

You will either need a new rig, a new cooler, or to continue with the issue.
It turns off at 90 degrees C.
If I turn it on at 3.1Ghz and run Orthos it has 70 degrees after 30 seconds and hits 90 after 1-2 minutes then Orthos stops and temps goes down to 50 degrees and then idles at 30-35.

Sometimes this CPU has a "good" day and can run even on 3.2Ghz (OC'ed) for whole day under 60 degrees even if it got "hot" day before on 2.6Ghz. It doesn't matter if there's hot in room or case is opened, it just has one of those glorious days when it runs on 3.1Ghz with max 54 degrees when stressed. Cooler wasn't even touched.

This morning it couldn't run 2.2Ghz and now it works on 2.4Ghz with 40-45 degrees while stressed but can't run on 2.8Ghz and up.

There's a thin layer of paste also. I really don't want to spend more money on cooling. :/

This CPU is a big mistake or something wonderful, haha. 😀

Some info about stable clocks and voltage with some temps (not remember all of them)
COOL N QUIET IS OFF
Idle temp on left and stress temp on right.
3.1Ghz at 1.4 V | 40 degrees idle | ~90 and crahses while stress or below 60 degrees when has a "good" day
2.8Ghz at 1.375 - 1.350 V | ~35 degrees idle | ~90 and crashes or below 50
2.6Ghz at 1.350 V | ~35 idle | 70-90 and crashes or below 50
2.4Ghz at 1.325 V | ~35 idle | 55 - 90 and crashes or around 45 degrees
2.2Ghz at 1.3 V | ~30 idle | 40-90 and crashes or below 45
2Ghz at 1.3 - 1.275 V | 20-30 idle | ~40 and today it hitted 90 degress while playing

Really, this CPU is weird.
