Is it fine to replace a cpu cooler many times??

Got the 212 evo to replace the old cooler I had on my 6700k but I was retarded enough to not align the screws properly. I had to take the heatsink out again and clean the thermal paste again. After that I still didnt put it properly and had to re do everything again. The next time the screws still were not holding the heatsink with enough force, I had to take it out again. Is it ok to be cleaning the thermal paste off the cpu and cooler many times?? will it affect the surface or something???

With a decent, metal cooler, there is no issue, but something with the cheap-ass old Intel plastic securing lugs, no. They tend to break after a few uses.
